Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility specializing in a micro-hospital setting is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge to provide expert pharmaceutical oversight and operational leadership. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to manage pharmacy services in a focused, patient-centered environment.
Location: Menomonee, WI
Schedule:
- Day shift, 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- On-call responsibilities required
- No weekend coverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and sole pharmacy staff member on-site
- Manage all pharmacy operations including audits and medication restocking
- Utilize Epic for order entry and Omnicell for automation in a specialized 7-bed Emergency Department and 8-bed inpatient micro-hospital
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a high level of patient care
- Collaborate remotely with local PIC and Pharmacy Director for orientation and ongoing support
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Wisconsin (WI licensure required)
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience with the ability to perform comprehensive PIC duties independently
- Familiarity with Epic order entry and Omnicell medication systems preferred
- Strong organizational and audit skills
- Ability to handle sensitive compliance issues with integrity, including those related to controlled substance management
