Job Description

Soliant Education is seeking dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreters for full-time, school-based opportunities in Bluffton and Beaufort, South Carolina for the 2026-2027 school year. These positions offer the opportunity to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by providing accurate interpretation services and helping ensure equal access to classroom instruction and school activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide sign language interpretation for students in classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational settings
Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
Interpret using American Sign Language (ASL) while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Collaborate with teachers, Deaf and Hard of Hearing staff, and other educational professionals to support student success
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct and district policies
Assist with promoting an inclusive and accessible learning environment
Attend meetings and professional development as required

Full-time position
2026-2027 school year
School-based setting
Openings available in Bluffton and Beaufort, SC
Elementary, middle, and high school opportunities may be available
Caseload and assignment details discussed during the interview process

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3.5 EIPA score required
Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and educational interpreting practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and families

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
