Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role offers an opportunity to provide expert pharmaceutical care within a long-term care mail order environment. The position involves managing prescriptions, counseling patients, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.

Location: Dayton, NV
Job Type: Contract (8 weeks)
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift options: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Rotating every other Saturday

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any over-usage issues.
  • Ensure prescribed medicines are appropriate for patients' conditions.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate records of patient information and pharmacy transactions.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer related questions.
  • Provide consultation on both prescription and non-prescription medications concerning dosage, storage, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related problems and communicate findings with physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
  • Nevada Pharmacy license mandatory
  • Experience in Long-Term Care environments preferred
