What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting students in special education settings (paraprofessional, teacher’s aide, or similar roles)
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Compassion and patience when assisting students with diverse abilities and needs
- Adaptability to work with a range of grade levels and caseload types (life skills, autism, behavioral support)
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
- Relevant certification or credentials for paraprofessional roles (preferred)
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support for K-12 students in life skills, autism, or behavioral settings
- Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment to promote student growth and independence
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior as directed by lead teachers
- Collaborate with instructional staff to adapt materials and activities for student needs
