Job Description

A fulfilling opportunity awaits for a dedicated school social worker to step in for a maternity leave with an elementary caseload. This contract role begins in late August 2026 and runs through early December, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference for a small group of students in an emotional disabilities (ED) program. With just three students currently enrolled, you’ll have the chance to provide targeted, individualized support within a collaborative school environment.

The assignment is part-time (2-3 days per week) and follows a consistent schedule of 8:15 am to 3:30 pm. You’ll build relationships with students, support their social and emotional growth, and work closely with staff to promote positive classroom dynamics.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • Valid school social worker certification
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally in an ED or specialized program
  • Strong skills in crisis intervention, counseling, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Ability to build rapport with students and communicate effectively with families and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct social work support to students in the ED program
  • Develop and monitor behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and family consultations as appropriate
  • Provide social-emotional learning support and evaluate student progress
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation according to school policies

This flexible, part-time position offers the chance to focus your expertise where it’s needed most, supporting students during a critical transition period.

If you’re ready to lend your knowledge and compassion to an enthusiastic elementary community, submit your application today to help students grow, thrive, and succeed. Your impact can last a lifetime!
