Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations and manage a dedicated team of two pharmacy technicians. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to transition into a permanent position based on performance and fit.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Theodore, AL
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily pharmacy operations within a specialty dermatology-focused setting
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications, including nonsterile compounding of creams and gels
- Supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards of patient care and safety
- Collaborate closely with dermatology providers to streamline medication management for patients
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage team members
- Experience with dermatology pharmacy practices is a plus but not required
- Competency in nonsterile compounding of creams and gels is advantageous
- Familiarity with New Leaf pharmacy system is beneficial, though training can be provided
This role offers a manageable patient volume, with patients primarily referred to the pharmacy by in-house dermatology providers. The start date is flexible within 1-2 weeks, with an initial 13-week contract and potential for permanent placement.
