Key Qualifications:

• Must meet “highly qualified” standards through one of the following:
  • Successful completion of the MN Para Educator Exam (proof of passing score required)
  • At least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas/degrees are not accepted as substitutes)
• Ability to provide resume and highly qualified documentation upon application
• Willingness to support students’ learning, social, and self-care needs (including toileting assistance)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Commitment to assigned school site and reliable transportation; candidates should review and map the location of their preferred school prior to application

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in classroom instruction, student supervision, and activity engagement
• Foster an inclusive learning environment by encouraging participation and independence
• Provide individualized or small-group support as outlined by the educational team
• Maintain confidentiality in all student matters and model positive behaviors
• Collaborate with staff to adapt strategies that meet students’ unique needs
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success plans
