Job Description
Step into a rewarding assignment supporting students in the San Juan Capistrano area as a School Speech-Language Pathologist. This full-time, contract position provides an excellent opportunity to impact young learners’ lives while furthering your professional experience in a supportive school setting.
You’ll work in person, with the chance to collaborate closely with educators and families while providing critical speech and language support to either preschool or middle school students. The assignment is for a leave of absence, anticipated to begin mid-October, with the exact start/end dates to be determined. Hours are Monday through Friday, following the school’s schedule.
What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active California SLP license
- Previous experience working in schools, preferably at the preschool and/or middle school level
- Strong communication, evaluation, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt strategies to meet students’ needs
- Excellent organization and teamwork abilities
Your Role:
- Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student progress
- Deliver both group and individual therapy sessions
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Keep thorough records and provide clear progress reports
