Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Oak Park, IL
Job Description
Step into a contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time role running January through June. This position covers a leave of absence and offers the chance to positively impact young learners' communication skills. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team, helping students thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Holds (or eligible for) SLP-CCC or is a Clinical Fellow (CFY)
- Illinois licensure or eligibility required
- Background in pediatrics or prior school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and school documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services for an elementary caseload
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver student-centered care
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adhere to all compliance requirements
- Offer both individual and group therapy aimed at developing speech, language, and communication abilities
- Support IEP development and attend meetings as needed
- Deliver expert strategies and education to staff and parents to enhance student success
