Job Description
Enrich young lives as a Special Education Teacher through a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role, located near Pendleton, IN, spans 35 hours per week from August 3, 2026, to June 7, 2027, and offers three distinct positions for dedicated education professionals. Candidates are encouraged to specify their preferred assignment in their application:
- Anderson High School: Life Skills classroom, approximately 10 students. Hours: 7:20 AM - 2:30 PM.
- Southview Preschool: Inclusion classroom, approximately 10 students. Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM. (Two positions available.)
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Indiana special education teaching license (proof required as part of application).
- Demonstrated experience in special education settings.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management abilities.
- Passion for inclusive and adaptive educational practices.
- Ability to commit to the full contract period and work onsite at the assigned campus.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs.
- Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate students’ abilities and facilitate meaningful academic progress.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service personnel, and families to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records, develop IEPs, and participate in required meetings and compliance activities.
- Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture that values each student’s strengths and challenges.
