School Behavior Specialist in West Chester, PA
Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting students and educators as a Behavior Specialist in a K-12 environment. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by helping teams implement evidence-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, to June 10, 2027, totaling 35 hours per week.
Qualifications:
• Valid Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Proven experience in autism support or special education settings
• Familiarity with K-12 school environments, preferably in urban districts
• Previous training experience and comfort leading professional development
• Must have reliable transportation
• Completion of all required PA clearances
• Ability to be onsite between 7:15AM and 4PM (no schedule accommodations)
Primary Responsibilities:
• Train new and returning staff on instructional practices and specific student behavior plans
• Deliver refresher workshops in updated practices and procedures
• Establish and model evidence-based classroom practices, working directly with students
• Offer ongoing support for team scheduling, assessments, and logistical needs
• Participate in onsite training sessions reviewing IEPs, BIPs, and documentation
• Remain accessible during the critical start-of-year period for staff, students, and administrators
• Coach classroom staff in real-time, demonstrating effective strategies and providing constructive feedback
• Partner with consultants to align practices with the Tiered Implementation Inventory
• Facilitate skill transfer across autism support classrooms
• Ensure high fidelity implementation of individualized student programs
