School Social Worker (SSW)

Location: Frankfort, IL

Term: 2026/2027 School Year

Hours: Full-Time (School Schedule)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker for a full-time opportunity in Frankfort, Illinois. In this role, you will work closely with students, families, teachers, and administration to provide vital mental health support, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning resources across the district.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct individual and group counseling to students based on IEP goals and general education support plans.

  • Conduct social-developmental assessments and participate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary IEP team.

  • Develop and implement positive behavior interventions, social skills groups, and crisis prevention strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community resources to support student well-being and academic achievement.

  • Serve as a advocate and resource for families navigating school and community-based support systems.

Requirements

  • Degree: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.

  • Licensure/Credentials: Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement in Illinois (or eligible to obtain prior to start).

  • Skills: Strong crisis intervention abilities, familiarity with IEP processes, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
