Job Description
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving K-8th grade students, with a primary focus on 5th through 8th grades. This position supports a speech-language pathologist on maternity leave and is located near Evanston, IL, within a vibrant and diverse school environment. The role begins August 17, 2026, and extends through November 27, 2026. You’ll work approximately 32 hours per week, with the option to tailor your schedule across three to four days—accommodating excellent work-life balance.
Your caseload will range from 15 to 20 students, allowing you to deliver focused, impactful speech services. New staff training details will be provided prior to the start date so you’re well-prepared for a successful transition.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Hold or be eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA
- Eligibility for relevant Illinois licensure
- Previous experience delivering services in school-based settings (K-8th preferred)
- Comfort working independently and adapting to the priorities of a small but dynamic caseload
- Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in grades K-8
- Assess, develop, and implement IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain organized records, document progress, and communicate regularly with parents and teachers
- Engage in new staff training as scheduled
- Participate in school meetings and provide recommendations on students’ communication needs
