Make a positive impact in the lives of students by providing speech-language pathology services within a dynamic middle school environment. This part-time contract opportunity offers 18 hours per week, focusing on supporting a Social Communication Program. Collaborate with educators and staff to help students build effective communication skills and achieve their individual goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active New Mexico state license in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Valid New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Teacher Certification
  • Open to candidates with Clinical Fellowship (CF) or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Experience or strong interest in pediatric or school-based speech-language services
  • Familiarity with middle school populations and social communication interventions preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) focused on social communication needs
  • Deliver direct and consultative speech-language pathology services to help students succeed in academic and social settings
  • Participate in school meetings, team planning, and parent communications to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate records, document progress, and prepare required reports
  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers and staff on speech and language strategies within the classroom
