Inspire high school students and make a meaningful impact as a contracted General Education Science Teacher in the New Orleans metro area. This full-time position offers the chance to foster student growth, encourage scientific curiosity, and help learners excel. The assignment is scheduled to begin on August 3, 2026, and will continue through May 27, 2027, following the standard academic calendar. Daily hours are 7:30am–3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification (DOE Cert) in Science (Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
  • Ready and eligible to begin immediately—candidates in the process of obtaining a license will not be considered
  • Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred
  • Ability to pass both drug screening and fingerprint background checks as required by district policy
  • Enthusiasm for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective and engaging science instruction to high school students, following curriculum guidelines and state standards
  • Develop lesson plans that foster inquiry and critical thinking
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school activities as required
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs within the classroom
