This opportunity is designed for an experienced pharmacist with a strong background in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients.

Location: Sun Valley, NV
Job Type: Contract (8-week duration)
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift options: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Rotating every other Saturday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication usage to ensure compliance and identify overuse or other concerns.
  • Maintain precise, confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide thorough consultation to patients regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Valid Nevada Pharmacy license.
  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
