This direct hire pharmacist position offers an opportunity to work in a leading 359-bed, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital known as a top pediatric medical provider. The facility is the only pediatric medical center in the state and features a fast-paced, team-based culture with cutting-edge resources. The role requires a commitment to excellence in inpatient pharmacy care within a supportive, progressive environment.

Location: Sherwood, Arkansas
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense medications accurately according to physician orders
  • Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient history, and medication use
  • Respond to patient inquiries on medications and dosage instructions
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy data recording, security, and hospital protocols
  • Verify dosages based on diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area, especially for pediatric patients
  • Monitor and resolve drug therapy issues including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions
  • Evaluate and suggest cost-effective and appropriate alternative therapies
  • Manage non-formulary drug evaluations and medication substitutions
  • Ensure quality preparation and labeling of all medications
  • Prioritize and process medication orders efficiently and timely
  • Provide patient care services, monitoring therapeutic outcomes and advising healthcare teams
  • Participate in education of patients, pharmacy staff, and students
  • Handle drug information requests and documentation
  • Assist in drug utilization review and compliance monitoring
  • Coordinate procurement, inventory, loan/borrow processes, and recalls

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Arkansas
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience
  • IV experience or IV certification preferred
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) credential preferred
