Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Hanahan, SC

You’ll become an essential part of a dedicated team, working closely with teachers, staff, and students to foster an inclusive environment.

Starting August 5th, 2026, and continuing through June 4th, 2027, this position offers a rewarding experience for those passionate about education and accessibility.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina SLI certification
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs
• Commitment to confidential and ethical interpreting practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student access to the general curriculum
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials as needed
• Maintain accurate records of services provided
• Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere for students and school personnel
