Job Description
Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students in grades K-6 at an intermediate level with this engaging, full-time contract opportunity beginning August 17 and extending through May 27, 2027. This onsite position offers the chance to inspire and guide students in a supportive school community, with specialized roles available as 5th Grade Dual Math/Science (2 positions), 5th Grade Dual Social Studies/ELA (1 position), 6th Grade Dual Math/Science (1 position), as well as support for K-2 English Second Language teaching responsibilities focused on PreK.
Your expertise in general education or ESL, paired with your commitment to curriculum design and creative instruction, will be instrumental in fostering student success and academic growth in a collaborative environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related discipline
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate subject endorsements
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning, design, and effective classroom instruction
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prior experience teaching general education or English as a Second Language in an elementary setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging instruction tailored to dual content areas or ESL needs, depending on assignment
- Adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs and varying proficiency levels
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture promoting academic achievement and social development
- Collaborate with colleagues to monitor student progress and refine instructional strategies
- Communicate proactively and effectively with students, families, and staff
