An exciting contract opportunity is available for a high school General Education Math Teacher for the upcoming academic year. Work weekdays in a dynamic high school setting, fostering students’ mathematical growth and academic success. The assignment runs from early August through late May, aligning with the school calendar.

Essential qualifications:

  • Possess a current, active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate in Mathematics (General Education); please note that temporary licenses are not accepted.
  • Previous high school teaching experience in mathematics is highly preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Comfortable adapting to new classroom environments and learning platforms as needed.
  • Must be available full time (35 hours per week, M–F) per school schedule.
  • Willingness to complete comprehensive background screening, including district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, prior to start.

Core responsibilities:

  • Instruct high school mathematics courses in alignment with district and state standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, administer assessments, and work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.
  • Build a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Track and report student progress, communicating regularly with parents and administration.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-related events as needed.
