School Counselor in Round Lake, IL

An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced school counselor or licensed school social worker to serve K-12 learners for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role is based in a dynamic educational community near Gages Lake, offering a rewarding environment to empower and guide students daily.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required
• Certification as either a school counselor or a school social worker (both considered)
• Experience working with K-12 student populations ideal
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to supporting diverse backgrounds and needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and social-emotional support to students in accordance with caseload assignments
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school leadership to develop tailored intervention strategies
• Facilitate group or individual counseling sessions addressing areas such as academic achievement, conflict resolution, and personal growth
• Assess students’ needs and maintain thorough documentation
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives promoting a positive and inclusive educational experience
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and legal standards

Position Details:

• Full-time (35 hours/week)
• Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Academic year: August 12, 2026 – May 28, 2027
• K-12 caseload (to be determined)
