Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients, in accordance with established procedures.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing ensuring proper labeling and handling to maintain integrity.

Explain procedures to patients, providing reassurance and building trust while demonstrating professionalism and sensitivity.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.

Adhere to safety protocols and uphold a safe, clean, and professional environment.

Perform routine data entry and maintain associated records efficiently and accurately.

Support laboratory operations by following process excellence and confidentiality standards.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills with experience drawing blood, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse patient populations.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry with attention to detail.

Capable of managing multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.

Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.

Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
