Job Description
A well-respected 359-bed trauma level 1 teaching hospital is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join their progressive, team-oriented environment. This facility is one of the largest pediatric medical providers in the U.S. and the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas, offering a fast-paced yet supportive workplace backed by state-of-the-art resources.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
The ideal candidate holds an active Arkansas pharmacist license and brings at least 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience. IV experience or certification is strongly preferred, along with Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) to help drive advanced clinical outcomes in this specialized setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately following physician orders.
- Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and clinical appropriateness.
- Educate patients and healthcare team members on medication usage and safety.
- Monitor drug therapy outcomes, intervene on adverse reactions, and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital procedures.
- Manage drug inventory, ordering, and substitution processes to ensure availability of essential medications.
- Participate in patient discharge planning and provide drug information consultations.
Qualifications:
- Active Arkansas pharmacist license
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy practice
- IV therapy experience or IV Certification
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation preferred
This direct-hire opportunity offers competitive compensation between $51.90 and $74.50 per hour, reflecting an annual salary range of $107,000 to $154,000, commensurate with experience.
