Job Description
Enhance student communication and learning outcomes in a dynamic school setting as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026–2027 academic year. This full-time, contract opportunity is based near Black Mountain, NC and offers the chance to positively impact elementary-aged students.
You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 43 students at Nebo Elementary School, working collaboratively with educators and families to deliver high-quality speech and language services. With support from your school team, your contributions will help shape brighter futures for students with diverse communication needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in K–12 school environments, especially with elementary-aged students, is highly valued.
- Active North Carolina SLP license preferred; strong applicants without current licensure considered if eligible for credentialing.
- Ability to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conduct assessments, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language intervention for a varied student caseload.
- Evaluate students to determine communication delays or disorders.
- Create, update, and monitor IEPs alongside teachers, staff, and families.
- Participate in team meetings and provide staff/family support as needed.
- Maintain timely, accurate records and support compliance with state and district requirements.
