Step into a pivotal role supporting K-12 learners as a Behavior Specialist for a full-time contract position spanning the entire 2026-2027 academic year. Working onsite, you’ll be a critical resource for staff and students, driving positive behavioral outcomes within a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training new staff in instructional best practices tailored for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Leading all-staff sessions on student-specific behavior intervention plans
  • Providing refresher training for returning staff on updated procedures and strategies
  • Establishing Verbal Repertoires (VRs) for students and modeling evidence-based practices in classrooms
  • Guiding teams through essential Year 1 logistics such as scheduling and student assessment
  • Facilitating comprehensive review sessions covering IEPs, BIPs, and associated documentation
  • Serving as an accessible expert during the crucial start-of-year period for staff, students, and administrators
  • Collaborating with PaTTAN consultants to ensure best practices align with the PAI Tiered Implementation Inventory
  • Delivering in-vivo coaching to demonstrate and reinforce classroom strategies in real time
  • Supporting skill transfer from anchor to other autism support classrooms throughout the district
  • Overseeing the faithful implementation of individualized student programs, monitoring for fidelity, and providing actionable feedback

Requirements:

  • Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a related field
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based approaches for students with ASD
  • School-based experience specifically in autism support or special education settings
  • All Pennsylvania clearances must be current prior to start date
  • Previous experience in urban educational settings
  • Ability to work onsite between 7:15AM and 4PM with no schedule accommodations
  • Reliable transportation
  • Comfort working within district and school parameters
  • Willingness to participate in a Zoom interview as part of the hiring process
