Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students’ communication and academic growth in Birmingham, AL, from August 7 through June 10. As a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist working within school environments, you’ll make a difference for children and adolescents with diverse needs. Assignments will be tailored according to district requirements, offering a dynamic and impactful experience.

Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution
  • Valid Professional Educator Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations governing services for children with disabilities and regulated educational programs
  • Solid understanding of pediatric and adolescent development and diagnostic tools for assessing children with disabilities
  • Familiarity with terminology related to physical and learning disabilities
  • Proven ability to analyze data, interpret policy, and communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Preferred: ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver comprehensive speech-language services to K-12 students in an onsite school setting
  • Evaluate, document, and monitor student progress; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement individualized plans in alignment with IEPs and state/federal requirements
  • Participate actively in meetings and contribute to staff development
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
