Finance Manager

KCR Solutions are supporting this successful SME in their search for a Finance Manager. You will take full responsibility for the finance function in a true standalone role. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day financial operations whilst also managing the finance requirements of a smaller business within the Group. This opportunity would suit a self-motivated, resilient finance professional who enjoys owning the complete finance cycle, improving processes, supporting operational decision-making, and working independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
\n
• Produce monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
\n
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
\n
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
\n
• Support year-end accounts preparation and external auditors.
\n
• Manage the full purchase ledger process including invoice processing and payment runs.
\n
• Oversee sales ledger, customer invoicing and credit control activities.
\n
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor daily cash balances.
\n
• Maintain fixed asset registers and financial records.
\n
• Process monthly payroll for approximately: 20 employees and 10 subcontractors
\n
• Process payroll requirements for the flooring business.
\n
• Administer pension contributions and payroll reporting.
\n
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and submissions.
\n
• Verify subcontractors and maintain accurate CIS records.
\n
• Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns.
\n
• Calculate and process CIS deductions.
\n
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
\n
• Maintain accurate accounting records across both businesses.
\n
• Monitor and manage cash flow requirements.
\n
• Provide analysis on project profitability and business performance.
\n
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced controls.
\n

Person Specification

\n
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position.
\n
• Experience managing a complete finance function independently.
\n
• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end processes.
\n
• Experience managing cash flow and providing financial analysis.
\n
