\nWe are recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Leeds that provides high-quality education for children and young people. The school are looking for a teaching assistant with experience with complex Autism and Communication & Interaction needs. This exceptional setting is looking to welcome a dedicated Support Worker who can offer both resilience and warmth in equal measure.

Students may present with sensory-based behaviours, communication challenges, and varying levels of independence. \nThe Role:

\nAs a Complex Needs Teaching assistant you will work across different phases of the school depending on need. Your day may involve supporting pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour linked to sensory processing or social understanding, as well as working gently and patiently with learners who require a calmer, more reassuring approach.
\nDuties include:
\nSupporting pupils with Autism and complex communication needs
\nManaging behaviours that can be unpredictable or sensory-driven
\nProviding a nurturing, structured, and safe environment
\nAssisting with personal care when required
\nWorking collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
\nAdapting your approach to meet individual needs
\nEncouraging positive engagement and independence
\nWhat We’re Looking For:
\nLived experience supporting individuals with Autism or complex learning need
\nBackground in support work, care, SEN, or related fields (children or adults)
\nConfidence in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, consistent approach
\nA nurturing, patient manner for pupils needing softer support
\nWillingness to work across age groups (3–19)
\nReliability, emotional resilience, and a genuine passion for inclusive support
\nAvailability full-time, Monday–Friday
