We employ over 1,200 employees nationwide.We possess a range of specialist skills to support our civil engineering and infrastructure activities, including:TunnellingMEICATemporary and permanent designSteel-fabricationSigns (design and fabrication)Health & safety equipment and products, including PPECompany Website:https://www.barhale.co.uk/Company Showcase Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFqsoclCUZAWhy join Barhale?As Gold Investors in People, we are committed to a high standard of people practices, creating an inclusive environment and ensuring cultural alignment to business strategy, ethos and philosophies.Job security, long-term secured work through various frameworks and large infrastructure schemesA broad range of civil engineering, mechanical and electrical schemes across some of the UKs largest infrastructure projects and clientsStrong career progression as demonstrated by our track record in promoting from within, as we believe this is a key driver of our successSub AgentThe RoleAs a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the management of small-value civil engineering and construction sites or assist the Site Agent and Project Manager on larger value schemes, to achieve the required project delivery to the customers objectives while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.Key ResponsibilitiesSite ManagementMaintain commercial performance of the contractBe responsible for the successful delivery of projectsProduce and manage the project programme and supervise the delivery of itUnderstand and interpret drawings and specificationsProvide engineering expertise and support to the project teamEnsure all staff, subcontractors and visitors are properly inducted, meet the competencies required of them and hold relevant qualifications and ticketsUndertake an ambassadorial role, representing the Business to customers, the public and official bodiesDeliver product to customer satisfactionProduce good quality, accurate monthly reports for the Client and internallyChair weekly site meetings in line with Company proceduresObtain all as built information ensuring that it is accurate and relevantHealth, Safety, Environment and QualityAlways comply with Company procedures and legal obligations, promoting best practicePromote the Barhale cardinal rules and establish safe working cultures and practices and environmental complianceMaintain and manage construction sites and subcontractors, developing positive working relationshipsOversee and ensure that all HSEQ-related documentation is kept up to date and briefed as necessaryEnsure that daily, weekly, and monthly inspections are carried out and that all audits and reports are producedLiaise with relevant third parties and government agenciesEnsure that the QA file is produced and maintainedEnsure the work is delivered snag/defect-free and on timeCost ControlPopulate and manage the Barhale cost plan for the projectMaximise project value and maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quoEnsure detailed site diaries/records are completedManaging ResourcesDeal with any actual or potential problems with resources promptlyEnsure that records of resources are complete and accurateAbout youEssentialConsiderable experience in Civil EngineeringWorking knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reportingGood knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineeringDegree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalentCSCS cardSMSTS cardNEBOSH or IOSHFull driving licenceExcellent communication, people, and team management skills with the ability to motivate others to achieve high standards of complianceAbility to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusionDesirableWorking towards CEng, IEng AMICE, or equivalentWater ExperienceTemporary Works Co-ordinatorLeadership experienceService avoidance trainingConfined space trainingAppointed person CPCS cardCaring and investing in youOur values have been embedded at Barhale for over 40 years, and they are our guiding principles regarding how we care and invest in people.
