\nA major UK Tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor, who is known as a real market leader in their field, is currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join their experienced commercial team on a permanent basis.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a real household name in the industry to work on prestigious contracts.
\nThe successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing project costs, contractual obligations, and change processes to ensure commercial efficiency. This includes preparing budgets, interim valuations, and final accounts, alongside cost forecasting and supporting value engineering initiatives.
\nThe role involves procurement of supply chain partners, assessment and certification of subcontract payments, and ongoing management of variation accounts. The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to preparation of Extension of Time claims and Loss and/or Expense submissions where required, while ensuring robust commercial documentation and compliance with contract requirements (JCT / NEC).
\nDeveloping positive working relationships, supporting dispute avoidance, and contributing to strong governance, quality and safety practices are also key elements of the role.
\nResponsibilities:

- Preparation and analysis of budgets \n
- Procurement of the Supply Chain and preparation of order documentation in accordance with company management systems \n
- Assessment and certification of Sub-Contractor interim payments ensuring the appropriate notices are issued. \n
- Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Account submissions \n
- Managing and valuing Variation accounts \n
- Assist with the preparation of Extension of Time claims and Loss and Expense submissions. \n
- Identification and management of Commercial risks \n
- Assist with the production of robust and accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports. \n
- Establish, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships. \n
- Ensure effective interaction between the commercial and operational site teams. \n
Requirements:

- Degree Qualified Candidate \n
- Civil Engineering Construction Experience \n
- Good knowledge of construction contracts particularly the JCT & NEC Forms of Contract \n
- Sound Commercial Awareness \n
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills \n
- High levels of organisational skills \n
- Ability to meet deadlines. \n
- Excellent numerical, IT and problem-solving skills \n
- Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision. \n
- Ability to travel frequently to Site, as and when required. \n
