Mechanical Assembly Fitter

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis. Summary of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter role Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 Location: Bedford Type of Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter Assemble various mechanical and electrical components working from engineering drawings. Carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing. Record and complete dimensional and quality/test check paperwork. Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks. Loading/unloading of vehicles as required. Requirements for a successful Mechanical Assembly Fitter Several years of experience working in a similar mechanical fitting/assembly environment. Experience working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation. Experience in completion of manufacturing and check list paperwork. Working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours. Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings. A keen eye for detail with the ability to think on your feet to resolve issues as they arise. Qualified overhead crane user and qualified forklift user.
