With a strong pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Pre-Construction team at our Cambuslang head office.

The Role

\n

Working within our Pre-Construction team, you will be responsible for the cost planning of projects during the pre-construction period, drawing on information from our supply chain, our in-house divisions and external consultants.

  • Preparation of costs plans, including measurement and quantification.
  • \n
  • Obtain budget cost information from key subcontractors.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to develop accurate cost plans.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with external consultants to inform and develop cost plans.
  • \n
  • Management and recording of all third-party pre-construction costs.
  • \n
  • Preparing and issuing consultant designer appointments.
  • \n
  • Preparing and issuing pre-construction valuations to clients.
  • \n
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises and buildability reviews with design, technical and site teams to deliver best value for the client.
  • \n
  • Maintain and develop cost database.
  • \n

Skills

\n
    \n
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • \n
  • Approximately 3 to 5 year’s post-qualification experience with a main contractor, developer or consultancy.
  • \n
  • Demonstrable measurement, quantification and cost panning ability; pre-construction experience is a distinct advantage.
  • \n
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods and standard forms of contract.
  • \n
  • Confident use of Microsoft Excel and measurement software; the ability to take off from digital drawings.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial judgement, numeracy and attention to detail, with the discipline to work to programme deadlines.
  • \n
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to deal directly with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
