Are you a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

We are recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist primary setting in Hillingdon (UB4 9QB). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who require tailored support to help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role\n

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • \n
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
  • \n
  • Help pupils regulate their emotions and develop social skills.
  • \n
  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning.
  • \n
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and independence throughout the school day.
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour using a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
  • \n

You will be supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • \n
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • \n
  • ADHD
  • \n
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • \n
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • \n
  • Emotional regulation and attachment needs
  • \n
  • Anxiety and behavioural challenges
  • \n
We're Looking For Someone Who:\n

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH.
  • \n
  • Remains calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
  • \n
  • Is confident supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • \n
  • Can build strong professional relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • \n
  • Is committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
