Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
Your new companyWell established contractor with a strong history in the sector, with offices across the East and Midlands and projects throughout the UK. They operate across a number of sectors including new build, fit out, maintenance and building services.They pride themselves on developing their staff to grow within the business, which is demonstrated by the tenure amongst the organisation.Your new roleReporting to a senior management team member, the Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of multiple construction projects while also taking responsibility for smaller schemes.The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients, contributing to all aspects of project delivery including commercial management, programme monitoring, procurement and reporting.Key Responsibilities:

- Support Project Managers with the successful delivery of construction and refurbishment projects \n
- Manage selected small works projects from inception to completion \n
- Assist with monitoring Health & Safety compliance and CDM Regulations \n
- Attend site and client meetings, recording and communicating relevant information \n
- Prepare project reports, programmes and profitability updates \n
- Assist with pricing and agreeing variations and instructions \n
- Support the preparation of valuations and final accounts \n
- Assist with tender and estimate preparation \n
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers \n
- Support business development activities and client relationship management \n
- Maintain exceptional levels of customer service \n
- Produce monthly commercial and progress reports \n
- Attend financial and project review meetings \n
- Support site teams to maximise project efficiency and resource utilisation \n
- Assist Project Managers with project administration and data management \n
- Ensure deadlines and project milestones are achieved \n
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence \n
- Utilise project management software and Microsoft Office packages effectively \n
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery and operational performance \n
- Undertake additional duties in line with business needs and career development \n
What you'll need to succeed
\n- \n
- Construction-related qualification (Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience) \n
- Experience within the construction industry \n
- Good understanding of construction processes and project delivery \n
- Experience working on commercial and/or design and build projects \n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation \n
- Strong organisational and coordination skills \n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities \n
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications \n
- Full UK driving licence \n
- Positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach \n
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification (desirable) \n
- First Aid at Work qualification (desirable) \n
- Previous experience in a project support or junior project management role (desirable) \n
