Join our team as a Production Engineer Manager, where you will support engineering and manufacturing functions by programming, setting, and proving new products across a range of machining centres and lathes. This role is essential for developing efficient production methods, improving processes, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

\n
    \n
  • Develop engineering solutions using both online and offline CNC programming from customer drawings and models.
  • \n
  • Set and prove CNC programs on 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centres to production standards.
  • \n
  • Create detailed manufacturing process plans and routings and upload them into the ERP system.
  • \n
  • Produce clear shop-floor documentation, including tooling, fixtures, gauges, and setup instructions.
  • \n
  • Review and optimise existing CNC programs and manufacturing methods to drive continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance production capacity, quality, and reliability.
  • \n
  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Shop Floor teams.
  • \n
  • Support the Quality and Inspection teams as required.
  • \n
  • Manage workload priorities within the Engineering function under direction from the NPI Engineering Manager.
  • \n
  • Produce 2D drawings and 3D models to support manufacturing processes.
  • \n
  • Review and create technical documentation, specifications, and customer-related documents.
  • \n
  • Design and develop fixtures in collaboration with shop floor engineers.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, including tooling, drawings, bill of materials, and calculations.
  • \n
  • Understand and document the effects of treatments and coatings on materials.
  • \n
  • Support training and development of team members where required.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • Essential:\n
      \n
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
    • \n
    • Proven ability to create CNC programs, models, and drawings using a CAM system.
    • \n
    • Experience working with a wide range of materials to tight tolerances.
    • \n
    • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • \n
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • \n
    • Strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
    • \n
  • \n
  • Desirable:\n
      \n
    • CAD/CAM training (e.g., Mastercam).
    • \n
    • Experience using ERP systems.
    • \n
    • Knowledge of ISO/ASME geometric tolerancing standards.
    • \n
  • \n
