Adaptable Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger/ Accounts Clerk to join a reputable business near Wigan on a permanent basis.Salary and Benefits Up to £30,000 DOE 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays Office based with free parking on site Early finish on a FridayKey responsibilities

- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner. \n
- Code invoices to the correct nominal ledger accounts and cost centres. \n
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing supplier details. \n
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies. \n
- Respond to supplier and internal queries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances. \n
- Prepare payment runs in accordance with company procedures and payment terms. \n
- Ensure all invoices are properly authorised prior to payment. \n
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and supporting documentation. \n
- Assist with month-end processes, including accruals and ledger reconciliation where required. \n
- Monitor aged creditors and support effective cash flow management. \n
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and relevant procedures. \n
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the purchase ledger function. \n
Key skills and experience

- Previous experience is essential \n
- Good understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment procedures. \n
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. \n
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines. \n
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance/accounting systems. \n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. \n
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries. \n
- Understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles is desirable. \n
