Finance Analyst - Barrow-in-Furness

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Analyst to join a major organisation based in Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of cost control activities across a busy operational environment. Working alongside the Cost Control team, you'll play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, procurement support, and ensuring robust cost management processes are maintained.

Responsibilities

\n
• Support cost control activities across operational and project expenditure.
\n
• Assist with budget monitoring, cost reporting and forecasting.
\n
• Prepare monthly accruals and maintain cost tracking information.
\n
• Analyse financial data using SAP and other reporting tools.
\n
• Investigate cost variances and support the production of accurate financial reports.
\n
• Monitor contractor and supplier costs, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings.
\n
• Support procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoice processing.
\n
• Ensure Procure-to-Pay processes are followed and maintained.
\n
• Review change requests and support financial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
\n
• Assist with timesheet analysis and cost allocation where required.
\n
• Attend internal and supplier meetings to support effective cost management.
\n
• Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role.
\n

About You

To be successful, you will have:

\n
• Previous experience using SAP.
\n
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
\n
• Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
\n
• A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
\n
• Previous experience within Finance, Cost Control or Commercial Administration.
\n
• Experience working within the energy, engineering, manufacturing or similar industry would be advantageous.
\n
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control and Procure-to-Pay processes is desirable.
\n
