Job Description
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Learning Support Assistant to work in secondary schools across the Southampton area for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity to support young people throughout their educational journey and help them achieve their full potential in the classroom.
\nWorking closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide additional support to students who may require assistance with learning, organisation, confidence, behaviour, or classroom engagement. Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of the school and students.
\nThis role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy helping young people succeed.
The Role:\n- \n
- Provide 1:1 support and small-group interventions for students \n
- Support pupils during lessons across a variety of subjects \n
- Help students remain engaged, focused, and motivated in their learning \n
- Assist with classroom activities and learning resources \n
- Encourage positive behaviour and learning habits \n
- Support students' confidence, independence, and academic progress \n
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff \n
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment \n
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently \n

- Experience working with young people \n
- Patient, supportive, and approachable manner \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills \n
- Able to build positive relationships with students and staff \n
- Flexible and adaptable approach \n
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team \n
- Backgrounds in coaching, youth work, tutoring, childcare, or education welcomed \n
- Graduates looking to gain school-based experience encouraged to apply \n

- Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time \n
- Pay Rate:£14.25 - £15.66 per hour \n

- Experience working with young people desirable \n
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential \n
- Safeguarding training can be provided \n

- Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management \n
