Operations Manager / General Manager

Description

Reporting directly to the MD and business owner, you will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operational performance, inter-departmental cohesion, and aiding with overall business growth and strategy. You'll lead a small team of 25 employees across all business functions through the SLT, to drive a culture accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
\n
• Working closely with customers, suppliers and direct employees to deliver a good quality service, on time and within budget.
\n
• Monitoring KPIs and implementing performance improvement plans.
\n
• Managing production planning, resource allocation, and delivery schedules.
\n
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
\n
• Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and execute operational strategy.
\n
• Supporting employee development, succession planning, and team engagement.
\n

Profile

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the wider business, and will communicate effectively with the SLT.

You will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
\n
• Strong background within industrial, engineering, or technical environments.
\n
• Key communication skills at all levels of the business, and the ability to work with a variety of different characters.
\n
• Demonstrable experience driving productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.
\n
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
\n
• Commercial awareness with a focus on customer satisfaction and business performance.
\n
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational capabilities.
\n
