You will manage a caseload of approximately 22 students with mild to moderate Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), primarily focusing on math and literacy. The school serves around 100 students, providing a close-knit atmosphere and outstanding support from a full-time interventionist and a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) counselor.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification/license
  • Experience or commitment to working with elementary-aged students (grades 5/6)
  • Strong background in literacy and math interventions for mild to moderate SLD
  • Ability to create individualized education plans and collaborate with a diverse team
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans based on IEPs for students with SLD
  • Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies to meet individualized needs
  • Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, interventionists, SEL counselor, and administrators
  • Actively participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development
  • Support a nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and capable
