Job Overview

This role involves assisting the nuclear physician in executing specialized imaging procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Possession of a valid New Jersey State license.
• Certification from ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

• At least two years of experience in a hospital setting as a staff technologist.
• NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT certification is preferred.

Scheduling Requirements

• This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week during the day.

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Adhering to standards set by the hospital and relevant regulatory bodies.
• Completing special assignments from supervisors in a timely manner.
• Supporting the nuclear physician in specialized imaging procedures.
• Ensuring all tests are conducted accurately and results are validated before patient release.
• Calibrating dose calibrators and performing quality control on gamma cameras according to departmental guidelines, promptly reporting any issues to the lead technologist.
• Clearly explaining procedures to patients, including wait times, and ensuring their comfort during the process while obtaining optimal images using specified technical parameters.
• Identifying patients (both inpatient and outpatient) according to hospital standard operating procedures before initiating any procedures.
• Carrying out all hot lab functions, including the handling of radiopharmaceuticals, in strict compliance with vendor, departmental, and regulatory guidelines.
