Mortgage Payment Processing and Customer Service LHH Recruitment is partnering with a servicing company in Albuquerque, NM who is in search of a payment processor and customer service representative. While there will be some phone calls in this role, it is primarily a behind the scenes processing position. This is fully onsite, Monday-Friday 730am-430pm. Pay is up to $22/hr.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily document scanning, indexing, and end-of-month (EOM) scanning to ensure accurate electronic recordkeeping.
  • Organize, file, and maintain trailing loan documents while ensuring complete and compliant loan files.
  • Input and verify daily Adjustable-Rate Mortgage (ARM) index rates within the MSP servicing system.
  • Prepare and process daily check deposits while maintaining accuracy and balancing payment records.
  • Post borrower mortgage payments accurately and in a timely manner, researching and resolving payment discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and assist with endorsement letters related to mortgage servicing transactions.
  • Create and organize loan files for secure vault storage while assisting with audits of newly boarded loans to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Securely dispose of processed checks and confidential financial documents in accordance with company policies and compliance standards.
  • Review, process, and maintain ACH authorization forms, ensuring accurate setup and updates for electronic payments.
  • Generate and mail payment forwarding letters to borrowers when servicing transfers or payment redirection is required.
  • Prepare and send manual payment rejection letters, clearly communicating the reason for rejected or returned payments.
  • Maintain and update the Suspense Account Tracker by researching unapplied or partial payments and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Generate and mail partial payment notification letters in accordance with servicing guidelines.
  • Research payment exceptions and work with internal departments to resolve unapplied funds and payment discrepancies.
  • Accurately enter borrower and payment information into the mortgage servicing system while maintaining data integrity.
  • Respond to borrower inquiries regarding payment processing, ACH transactions, suspense balances, and payment history.
  • Maintain confidentiality of borrower information while adhering to federal regulations, investor guidelines, and company servicing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in mortgage servicing, mortgage payment processing, banking, financial services, or a call center environment preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using mortgage servicing systems is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
