Job Description
A Red Carpet DSP Mentor will create a "Red Carpet" welcome by providing mentoring in addition to providing direct support, answering questions, and ensuring team members see the real-life application of lessons learned through formal training. They will set a standard of person-centered practices. Their role is flexible and transitional creating stability for those new to our services. This will include providing supports to both adults and children.\n
\n
\nYou will be providing supports in both Jackson & Josephine Counties. The working location of your schedule varies day to day and some travel time may be compensated.\n
\n
\nThis position requires that you be able to work a variety of shifts, including, but not limited to, day shift, swing shift, awake overnights, and live-in positions. While you will receive your schedule at least two weeks in advance, you may be covering an Awake Overnight Shift one day, and then a swing shift the next; this is uncommon but can happen. The Red Carpet DSP Mentor Position is required to work weekends and to pick preferred days off during the week.\n

\nWage & Benefits: $26.50 per hour\n

\nMust be at least 18 years of age when starting employment.\n
\n2 years Direct Support Professional Experience required.\n
\nMust have and show basic computer skills and can learn agency applications.\n
\nExcellent interpersonal skills.\n
\nWell-organized and attentive to detail.\n
\nCooperative and willing to learn.\n
\nAbility to interpret various instructions.\n
\nEnhanced math skills – must be able to accurately balance a budget and basic math transactions.\n
\nProfessional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills both expressive and receptive.\n
\nMust be able to read, write, and speak English (reasonable accommodation may be made for some positions).\n
\nPCL’s Team members must have dependable, reliable, and regular work attendance, and must adhere to attendance policies.\n

\nJob Duties:\n
\n
\nThe Red Carpet DSP Mentor is part of a Development Team that receives specialized training to stabilize teams and welcome people to their new homes and PCL supports.\n
\nThis team of DSPs will be deployed to ensure a new person has stable, skilled, and mission-focused team members to provide their support.\n
\nRed Carpet DSP Mentors will then work alongside newly hired DSPs to create a work environment where new team members are welcomed and trained by mission-focused peers.\n
\nBe knowledgeable of and implement each person’s support needs, preferences, interests, and choices as outlined in support documents and other documents.\n
\nOccasional compensated travel to our Northern Oregon Region. (3-6 Times Per Year)\n
\nParticipate in an on-call rotation for their assigned area. On a regular rotation, this position is on-call for their assigned area for 7 consecutive days in each rotation.\n
\nVarious positions may involve distributing medications, cooking, house cleaning, yard maintenance, handling challenging behaviors, and intimate care.\n
\nPromote and implement PCL’s mission in the lives of those we support.\n
\nProvide a stable living environment by respecting dignity, individual choice, input, and health and safety needs.\n
\n
\nPhysical Requirements:\n
\n
\nMust be able to lift and transfer 25 pounds minimum; some positions may require more.\n
\nAppropriately and efficiently responding to emergencies and/or crises (including but not limited to the use of physical intervention).\n
\n
\nCertifications and Training:\n
\n
\nMust pass required DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations.\n
\nThis position requires a valid driver’s license and to be eligible to drive agency vehicles.\n
\nComplete and maintain all certifications as required by the position, PCL, and other governing agencies.\n
\nMust be able to obtain and maintain certification to a satisfactory level in Oregon Intervention System (training provided if hired).\n
\nMust be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR (training provided if hired).\n
\nComplete all duties related to being a Mandatory Abuse Reporter.\n
\nNew hire orientation and on-site training must be completed within 60 days of hire.\n
