Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a substitute Speech-Language Pathologist for the beginning of the upcoming school year. This contract position covers an initial 12-week period, stepping in while the primary SLP is out on FMLA, from August 10th to the end of October. You’ll work with a dedicated student population across two elementary buildings, collaborating closely with an assigned Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) to help manage a larger caseload of approximately 117 students.
Hybrid and virtual/VOCO service delivery is welcomed, making this a flexible option for experienced professionals. You’ll make a lasting difference by guiding young learners in their communication and language skills, adapting your approach for a diverse group of elementary students in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license and current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience providing speech services in a K-12/elementary school setting
- Familiarity with managing larger caseloads, preferably with support from an SLA
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual (VOCO) service delivery
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with school teams, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to a diverse elementary caseload
- Utilize innovative techniques and technology for both VOCO and on-site sessions as needed
- Work collaboratively with the assigned SLA to maximize student outcomes
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress according to IEP goals
- Communicate effectively with school personnel and families
