Become part of a transformative team – Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetrics & Gynecology clinician-educator to join the expanding Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the lively city of Charleston, SC. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in training future physician leaders while improving access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and its neighboring areas.
With a dedicated team of over 50 physicians and researchers focused on Women’s Health, we take pride in our recognition by U.S. News & World Report 2023 – 2024 as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology in the nation.
In 2020, we inaugurated the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a cutting-edge facility spanning 100,000 square feet with 250 beds, revolutionizing the care provided to women, children, and fetal patients in the region. This exceptional clinical environment is further supported by the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research center in the Carolinas and one of only 15 of its kind nationwide.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have completed an accredited residency or fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Are Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Exhibit a strong commitment to education, possess excellent communication abilities, and have a keen interest in academic pursuits.
About this opportunity:
- Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, helping to shape the future of OB/GYN specialists.
- Join a collaborative and supportive department comprising over 50 physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and dedicated support staff.
- Enjoy a flexible clinic schedule designed to meet your professional needs and preferences.
- Provide dedicated coverage one day per month in our Labor & Delivery unit.
- Approximately four weeks of inpatient coverage each year.
- Perform GYN surgeries in the operating room twice a month, including robotic procedures for those credentialed in robotics, with support from subspecialists in GYN Oncology, Urogynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).
- Engage in a flexible call system shared among department members, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
- No research obligations required.
- Utilize the EPIC medical record system.
