\nUnder general direction of an Engineering Team Lead, the Structural Project Engineer develops and executes projects of standard design structures and customizes standard designs to meet order-specific customer requirements following industry’s safety and quality standards. Represents the company in communication and coordination with customers and suppliers.\n
\n
\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n
\n
\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.\n
\n
\nIndependently completes project activity as delegated by the Engineering Team Lead or Engineering Manager. Projects can be either product/process improvement or production design process improvement. Contributes ideas for further improvements\n
\nCompletes work on each project respecting adherence to design standards. All work must be completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Manages multiple projects at various stages of Engineering process including:\n
\nCustomer Coordination and Communication\n
\nInitial Project Sketch / Drawing and Analysis\n
\nApproval Drawings Review and Submittals to Customer\n
\nApproval Drawing Returned from Customer\n
\nRevisions and Project Change Documents\n
\nFinal Detail Drawing Checking and Approvals\n
\nCalculation Packets- Analysis for Submittals\n
\nCalculates project cost changes and scope changes and communicating those cost changes to Sales or Project Management to negotiate with customer\n
\nMaintains and updates Project Database for respective projects\n
\nProvides guidance and technical support to Project Manager, Detailers and Drafters\n
\nIndependently completes complex production designs through utilization of design standards and tools in a 3D CAD modeling environment, often working outside the scope of the tools\n
\n

\nEducation and/or Experience\n
\n
\nBachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or Architectural Sciences is required\n
\nCompletion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam\n
\n1-3 years of experience using AutoCAD 2016 or Higher\n
\n3D modeling software knowledge required\n
\n2-5 years of applicable experience in material handling equipment product and process design desired\n
\nProfessional Engineering license is desired\n
\n
\nOther Skills\n
\n
\nAbility to work independently when solving problems, but using good judgment in seeking guidance where appropriate.\n
\nAbility to communicate with other internal departments: Drafting, Sales and Project Management\n
\nAbility to understand information such as bills of material, drawings, design data and design standards\n
\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools\n
\n
\nLanguage Skills\n
\n
\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, professional journals, and blueprints. Ability to write reports and documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.\n
\n
\nMathematical Skills\n
\n
\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\n
\n
\nReasoning Ability\n
\n
\nAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\n
