\nThe College of Western Idaho is seeking a part-time Workforce Development Electrical Instructor to train and mentor future electricians. This role delivers hands-on, industry-aligned instruction using modern teaching methods and technology, supports student skill development, and contributes to curriculum improvements alongside program leadership and industry partners. Ideal candidates are Idaho-licensed journeyman electricians with at least five years of experience and a passion for teaching adult learners in a supportive, high-impact learning environment.\n

\nKey Responsibilities:\n

\n Deliver High-Quality, Student-Centered Instruction\n
\n
\nTeach the approved curriculum using a mix of individual, group, and hands-on learning methods.\n
\nCreate an engaging, supportive learning environment that promotes student success and skill development.\n
\nPrepare and utilize current instructional materials, tools, and technology to enhance learning.\n

\nAssess and Support Student Performance\n
\n
\nEvaluate student knowledge and skill attainment through written, oral, practical, and performance-based assessments.\n
\nProvide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress and learning outcomes.\n
\nEnsure instructional content aligns directly with assessment methods and performance expectations.\n
\n
\nSupport Program and Curriculum Development\n
\n
\nCollaborate with the Program Coordinator/Manager and advisory committee to ensure curriculum aligns with industry standards and workforce needs.\n
\nRecommend and assist with curriculum updates, revisions, and continuous improvement efforts.\n
\nAdapt instructional methods and materials based on feedback and program evaluations.\n
\n
\nMaintain a Safe, Professional, and Industry-Current Learning Environment\n
\n
\nSupervise students during all classroom and lab activities and maintain a safe, disciplined learning space.\n
\nMaintain current knowledge of electrical industry trends, technology, and best practices.\n
\nMeet physical and professional requirements necessary for working in an electrical training environment.\n
\nAttend and actively participate in scheduled meetings and program activities.\n
\n
\nWhat We're Looking For:\n
\n
\n• Electrician Journeyman License from the State of Idaho\n
\n• 5 years of experience in the field or equivalent combination of education/certificate and work-related experience.\n
\n• Experience training others in the Electrical Trade\n
\n• Strong familiarity with technician training needs\n
\n• Knowledge of adult learning methodology\n
\n• Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching methodologies including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning, and teaching with technology\n
\n• Ability to demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development\n
\n• Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications\n
\n

\nAll candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.\n
