Job Description
Enhance the lives of young learners while working as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic, supportive school environment near Fort Walton Beach, FL. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting students’ physical development across multiple schools in the Niceville area, conveniently located in Florida’s beautiful Panhandle.
This itinerant position covers several school sites, working with a manageable caseload of approximately 40 students, primarily in elementary grades. You'll deliver on-site physical therapy services (virtual options are not available) to students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, fostering growth and achievement over the course of the academic year.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
- Current, active Florida Department of Health Physical Therapist license
- Experience or strong interest in providing therapy within a PK-12 educational setting
- Ability to travel between multiple campus locations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Fingerprints required; applicants with existing prints in the AHCA Clearinghouse may have expedited processing
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy services to elementary-aged students based on IEPs and referral needs
- Assess and document students’ progress, regularly updating teachers and families
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into the school day
- Travel to multiple sites in the district to provide coverage as assigned
- Ensure timely compliance with district credentialing and badging processes
