Manufacturing Engineer I

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. \nThe Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for such activities as machining/composite materials layout and assembly. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.\n

\nWorks under only general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions\n
\nWork is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives\n
\nComplete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field\n
\nGeneral knowledge of other related disciplines\n
\nProvides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems\n
\nSolutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives\n
\nContributes to the completion of specific programs and projects\n
\nFrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts\n
\nRepresents the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects\n
\nRequirements:\n
\nBS in designated Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience\n
\n
\nPreferred Additional Skills:\n
\n
\nDMAIC, DFSS, LEAN, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Mistake Proofing, DOE, DFx\n
\nRoot Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB)\n
\nProduction and Assembly Environment (Composite Lay Up, Cure, Paint, and NDI)\n
\nMachine shop environment (Composite Machining) as a manufacturing engineer\n
\nNew Product Development / New Business Development\n
\nShop Planning Generation (MS Word Products, etc)\n
\nWorking in/Leading a multi—disciplined team\n
\nGD&T\n
\nCATIA V5\n
\nGreen Belt Certified a plus\n
\nExperience in Windchill, and SAP a plus\n
\nAerospace manufacturing a plus\n
\n
