Type: Full-Time Nocturnist Gastroenterology Hospitalist
Location: Arlington, VA (DC Metro Area)

Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Hospitalist to become part of our expanding, patient-focused program at our primary hospital facility in Arlington, Virginia, a prominent medical center in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

This role is perfect for Gastroenterologists looking for a specialized overnight inpatient position, delivering high-level GI care while maintaining a manageable schedule.

Schedule

  • 7-on / 7-off block schedule

  • Weekday hours: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM (on-call, available for urgent procedures or in-house consultations)

  • Weekend hours: 5:00 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday (on-call, managing inpatient consultations and procedures)

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver overnight inpatient gastroenterology services

  • Address acute GI conditions and other urgent/emergent cases

  • Work closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, and Hospitalist teams

  • Ensure timely documentation and effective handoff to daytime GI physicians

  • Engage in quality improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives

  • Support our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered care

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical institution

  • Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Gastroenterology

  • Preferred experience in inpatient GI and endoscopy (new graduates with strong training are encouraged to apply)

  • Eligible for or licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
